Last night Mason was talking about his two mommy's. He knows he was never in my tummy. Coming to that understanding was very intuitive for him as we never really discussed it, he always just knew. He was telling us that he was in his birth mommy's tummy and that she gave him milk. He said when we came to China and adopted him that he was scared. This was the first time he actually said the word scared and that this was what he was feeling. In the many times we've talked about his story we have mentioned that it was probably a very scary experience for him (meeting us and then having to leave with us). What was most enlightening about this conversation though was that the reason he was scared, he said, was because we were so tall. At 5' 7" and 6' 4" looking down at a 36" 2 year old, being tall was most definitely very scary.
