This weekend Dustin and I traveled to NE Iowa to visit with Dustin's grandma, Norma. We had an absolutely fabulous time! Since all of my grandparents have passed away, I really cherish the time I get to spend with Dustin's grandma. There's something relaxing about going to grandma's house. Life for the time being seems so much simpler while we are there. No phones, no computers, no television. Don't be mistaken, Norma has a phone, tv, and computer like most of the rest of us, but these items don't interrupt our visits and we don't resort to them out of boredom or "necessity". Instead we talk. Sharing stories about our lives. Her quilting circle, our adoption, her holiday shopping trip, our adoption, her crocheting, our adoption...
Speaking of crocheting, Norma let me have my pick of several beautiful baby blankets. It was too hard to choose. They were all so lovely. In the end I picked a square pattern in white, pink, and mint green for Tessa. The squares are meticulously attached to each other at the corners by single strands of yarn. I can't imagine the time it must've taken to create. Thank you Norma! Thank you for the wonderful weekend!
