Searching for our boy

Our Prince of Siping may be living in a castle!

We have been told that our boy is staying at Siping Social Welfare Institute (SWI), Jilin Province. According to this story, it looks like a new pink castle was developed in 2006 to house the new orphanage in Siping, China. It can care for 100 children, one of which may be ours.

Could this be a video of him? We really think so. This was taken on May 27, 2007. Here is a screenshot at 2 and a half minutes in:

The thought of Packages of Hope having helped our orphanage is such an amazing feeling. A hot water heater, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a library, an incubator, and even these priceless videos. We look forward to finding out more about this organization. It it such a relief to look at these videos and seeing such active, happy babies!

  • Here is another page by Packages of Hope with even more pictures from 2007.

  • We also stumbled upon a Wheaton College graduate who is teaching English in this province. She gave her students an extra credit assignment, by visiting the Siping Orphanage and writing an essay about it. She has a huge photo collection from the Siping Orphanage. It's possible he's walking around in some of those pictures!

  • We also just received an email response from someone working with Mountainbrook Community Church. Their community 'adopted' this orphanage and has been helping out with visits, donations, and prayers. He is none other than the Mr. Bean, showcased on their web page. It seems that this little boy has touched many people's hearts already.

I think you're right! I am almost positive that's him in the video and also saw his pix in the Packages of Hope update on the website - the 10th photo down.

They all look so happy. It looks like a nice SWI with caring staff.
