Legroom fit for a King

After being picked up at 5 a.m. (Thanks!) and getting to the airport at 5:30, we were told that our flight was going to be delayed til 8:45 due to "no crew".

We finally left the ground at 9:10, and ended up eating a greasy sandwich at O'Hare by 9:50. We then mosied back to our gate to find a line of 200 people. Turns out you need to get a silly "VISA OK" stamped on our tickets. While in line, Heather thought she saw our names on a scrolling TV, each with completely separate seating arrangements. When I got to the front desk, I asked if our seats changed, because of what we saw. She checked, and without saying anything, printed me a new ticket. For Business Class. I told Heather & her dad what happened and they handed their tickets over. 3 Business Class tickets!

Nice cushy seats. More than anyone could ever wish for. And the meal was just crazy. 5 course meal, starting with shrimp. We were all stuffed to the gills.

Unfortunately the flight still lasted 13 hours (I thought maybe Business Class teleported)

We're in Beijing!
Our clocks here say 5:48 p.m. Our brains say it's 3:48 a.m. A couple more hours and we will get to sleep til morning.

Wow, that's awesome that you got business class tickets on the way over. Kind of (but not really) makes up for the fact that you didn't get to fly out when you were supposed to.

I hope you get the same treatment on the way back so you can have some play room with Mason.
